This route runs along the right-hand bank of the River Ulla, making use of passageways, fishermen’s trails and signposted paths.
The itinerary begins in the Gundián viewpoint, about 100 metres above the river, which provides a matchless view of the River Ulla narrowing at Paso da Cova, going under the railway bridge and continuing on into the distance. From here the route naturally goes down, running parallel to the river and crossing the village of Ponte Ulla. After a short distance, we come across a singular waterwheel called muíño de Reboredo, made up of five millstones: one for sulphur, an albeira only for wheat and another three for other cereals.
The next stop is in the Agronovo recreational area, in the surroundings of Santa Cruz de Ribadulla, where we can rest a bit to get our strength back. We continue on a short distance as far as the Coto de Ximonde recreational area, in San Miguel de Sarandón, one of Galicia’s most important salmon preserves, now converted into a fish-breeding and –reproduction station. Further on we come to the Cubelas recreational area, in San Pedro de Sarandón, which brings this beautiful route alongside the Ulla to an end.
